Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 25, 2026
DevTools.fm (hosted at zerokit.dev) is built with privacy in mind. The vast majority of our tools run entirely in your browser. We do not require user accounts, we do not collect personal data, and we do not use tracking cookies.

2. Client-Side Processing
Most tools on DevTools.fm run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. Your input data (text, code, files, images) is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. When you close the browser tab, any data you entered is gone.
This applies to tools including, but not limited to: JSON Formatter, Base64 Encoder, JWT Decoder, Hash Generator, Regex Tester, Color Converter, Markdown Preview, UUID Generator, Password Generator, QR Code Generator, Image Compressor, and all other tools not listed in Section 3 below.
3. Server-Side Tools
Eight tools require a server-side API to function because they need to perform network lookups that cannot be done from a browser. These tools are:
- DNS Lookup
- SSL Certificate Checker
- HTTP Header Checker
- WHOIS Lookup
- Redirect Checker
- Website Status Checker
- Email Validator
- Tech Stack Detector
When you use one of these tools, only the domain name or URL you enter is sent to our server API. We do not log, store, or retain these queries. The server processes the request, returns the result to your browser, and discards the data. No personal information, IP addresses, or usage history is stored in connection with these lookups.
4. Cookies
DevTools.fm itself does not set any cookies. We do not use session cookies, authentication cookies, or analytics cookies.
However, we use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our site (see Section 5). Google AdSense may set cookies on your device to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. These cookies are managed entirely by Google and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Google AdSense and Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense is a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC.
Google AdSense may use the following technologies:
- Cookies: Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

- DoubleClick cookie: Google uses the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of the DoubleClick cookie by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting www.google.com/settings/ads or by visiting www.aboutads.info.

6. Personal Data
We do not collect, store, or process any personal data. Specifically:
- No user accounts or registration
- No email addresses collected (unless you voluntarily contact us)
- No analytics or tracking scripts (apart from Google AdSense as described above)
- No IP address logging
- No usage tracking or behavioral profiling
- No data shared with or sold to third parties
7. Local Storage
Some tools may use your browser's local storage or session storage to preserve your preferences or recent inputs for convenience (for example, remembering a theme preference). This data is stored entirely on your device, is never transmitted to our servers, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
8. External Links
Our site may contain links to external websites (such as GitHub). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
9. Children's Privacy
DevTools.fm is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since we do not collect personal data from any users, this applies equally to all visitors.
